Continuity of Learning
You will notice that we have updated our District website with new continuity of learning activities. Your teachers will be utilizing and guide your distance learning using this upgraded platform. This week, I will add a link to our website that will direct you to the continuity of learning. Be on the lookout!
During this new phase, over the coming weeks, your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you and will start providing direct instruction using on-line platforms and by phone. This type of teaching and learning is new for all of us. Have patience with your child, yourself, as well as District staff as we all adapt to this new learning environment. I am confident your child will be successful.
Technology Distribution
We plan on having one final Chromebook distribution date in the near future. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if you still need a device. Once we have finalized our final list, we will schedule an individual appointment pick-up time. Please make sure you inform your child’s teacher by Tuesday of this week.
Food Distribution
We will continue our daily meal distribution starting this Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
On Wednesdays, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, at Hudnall Elementary School, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank will provide "Shelf-Stable Food,” such as canned foods, to families in the community. Food will be provided in a box that can weigh up to 18 pounds. Supplies are limited to 260 boxes and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Fridays, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, at Hudnall Elementary School, the Social Justice Learning Institute and Food Forward will continue to provide 200 bags of fresh fruits and vegetables for families.
If you have additional questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] or your child’s teacher. Please stay safe and healthy.
